- Storage: Hosted on secure third-party infrastructure. Magnetic retains ownership of the application and your data remains your property.
- Disclosure: In cases of legal requests, fraud, or mergers/acquisitions (e.g., involving Silversoft or Magnetic), Briefin may transfer data, with prior notification where applicable.

5.1 GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation)
- Customer Data Ownership: You retain complete ownership of all data you input into Briefin. Your responsibility includes data accuracy, legality, and necessary permissions.
- Roles & Responsibility: Magnetic acts as both a data controller and a data processor under GDPR. Briefin enables you to serve as a data controller, with obligations to ensure GDPR compliance. Even if you're outside the EU, GDPR applies if you process data related to EU citizens.
5.2 POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act, South Africa)
- Customer Responsibility: Similarly, you own all data and must ensure its integrity, legal basis, and accuracy.
- Definition of "Data Protection Laws": Includes South African POPIA (Act No. 4 of 2013), the EU GDPR, and any other applicable data protection legislation in jurisdictions relevant to Magnetic’s operations.
6. Your Rights & Our Commitments
- Access & Portability: You may request data access or a copy for portability.
- Correction & Deletion: We will correct or erase your data upon request, subject to verification.
- Breach Notifications: In the unlikely event of a data breach, we commit to notifying affected clients within 72 hours and conducting a transparent investigation.
- Compliance Actions: We have enforced internal policies, restricted access, and comprehensive logging to meet GDPR and POPIA requirements.

Your data may be processed or stored outside your country. In such cases, Briefin ensures appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy mechanisms to guarantee legal data transfer compliance.
